What Will You Learn?

Improve Your Guard Retention So It Is Hardly Ever Passed: Even If You Are Older & Lack Flexibility.

Priit Mihkelson Figured Out A System For Older Grapplers To Retain Guard Easily, That ANYONE Can Learn!

If you lack flexibility, athleticism, youth, and explosiveness this is the system for you. Priit takes a fundamental no nonsense approach to his guard retention system he uses on a daily basis.

All too often we find ourselves getting our guards past by the young, fast and explosive athletes.

It begs the question, do I need to be stronger, faster and more athletic to play guard against these guys?!

No!

Priit Mihkleson is one of the most sought after instructors because he simplifies Jiu Jitsu and helps people develop a sound fundamental approach. Priit is a black belt under SBG Head Coach and Founder, Matt Thornton.

Much like his coach, Priit likes to simplify things. His philosophy of "Functionalist Minimalism" is exactly what it sounds like. He wants to have a minimum output of energy while making his movements functional. The key is low exertion.

When it comes to guard retention, Priit knows that the key components to developing a strong guard retention system are timing and fundamentals.

If you do a move 100% perfect at the wrong time, it won't work, but if you do a move just 60% correct at the perfect time, it will work. When it comes to retaining guard, this is what Priit shows.

What if we can't have the perfect timing or the perfect technique? Well, that is where Priit's fundamentals and concepts come into play.

Priit likes to utilize concepts that have a multitude of applications. The way he teaches is very conceptual. Meaning, if someone is trying to leg drag, torreando, or do another explosive pass from a standing position, he will show you the most important principle for guard retention is the same against all of them. You have to elevate the hip and turn the inside knee down.

These are the types of principles that simplify learning and make things very easy to retain. It's a different approach than showing specified techniques.

Let's be real here and not sugarcoat, when you have a tough guy running around your legs, its not realistic to think your thought process will be "First grab the left pants, then the cross collar, now pummel leg, then elevate body, now switch hips and blah blah blah."

It's much easier to say, "lift the hip and turn my inside knee down!" Or "get an underhook."

Now that is doable. We can all remember that, and then our muscle memory and our own game will be accessible.

Priit has seen great success in competitions as well. He has done countless seminars and has a way with words. He just makes things easy to learn.

One of the best parts about Priit's guard retention methodologies is that they are versatile and will work in both Gi and No Gi. All to often we are taught techniques that will only be reliable with a gi, that's not the case here, on the contrary, Priit likes to show things that work in both.

Priit is going to walk you through a conceptual and fundamental guard retention system that he has been teaching and utilizing for years. You will develop the confidence to play open guard in both the gi and no gi against anyone. No longer will there be a fear of some crazy athletes just using his athleticism to pass your guard. Learn to slow down the game and retain your guard without using flexibility.
