What Will You Learn?

Have you ever been smashed on the bottom? When it is a bigger guy it is even worse. Black Belt Jay Wadsworth has figured out one of the best ways to counter a guy who is smashing you.

He takes a 2 on 1 sleeve grip and works a deadly series of attacks. His 2 on 1 is similar to a Kimura in that two of his hands are stronger than anyone’s one hand, but it is a lot easier than a Kimura to set up. He realized ed there is one truth to fighting Pressure Passing

Without Two Grips – Pressure Passing Doesn’t work!

From Jay: I developed this guard deal with the guy who wants to stay on his knees and not stand to allow De La Riva or Open Guard Attacks. I utilize this guard in hopes he will stand and I can transition to dlr. If he stays low I have developed multiple attacks from the grip and position.

When A Big Guy Stands – He Is Just As Light As A Small Guy

This Guard either creates an arm drag if the passer stays on the knees or opens up a whole world if the guy stands where Jay can work his De La Riva or a whole world of Open Guard Attacks.

So Who Is Jay Wadsworth?

He is one of those under the radar black belts we have seen who no one on the competition scene wants to fight. His creation, the 93 Double Sleeve Guard kills bigger guys:

What people are saying about Jay:

“Jay's sleeve guard game is second to none. It's an attacking style game that puts your opponent on the defensive and in imminent danger of submission. I have incorporated his techniques into my own game and have been able to not only defend from the guard but attack and be the aggressor. This should be a go-to concept for guard players!”

-Josh Roth BJJ Black Belt, Kinetix Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

“Me and the guys are lovin the 2 on one grip series you taught last week. Been drilling it like crazy. So much control and opens lots of options. Really appreciate you man. If you're in town next week would love to have you back”

Paul Burress Head instructor Carlson Gracie Rochester
