The closed guard is the first guard most grapplers learn and the one many never learn to use well, and Ramon Estevao builds it the right way from day one.

Ramon Estevao is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who competes and trains with Day 1 Jiu-Jitsu.
In Unleashing The Closed Guard Potential: Fundamentals & Foundations, Estevao breaks down how to pull closed guard from standing, how to deal with your opponent opening it, the cross collar choke, baseball bat choke, armbar, kimura and triangle, plus seven sweeps.
This isn't just a list of closed guard moves, it's a complete starting system with drills that build the hip movement behind every technique.

What Will You Learn?

The closed guard is the first guard most grapplers learn and the one many never learn to use well, and Ramon Estevao builds it the right way from day one.

Estevao is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who competes and trains with Day 1 Jiu-Jitsu, and his course is built for the student who is just starting to play guard. Now he's sharing the closed guard fundamentals he wants every beginner to own.

In Unleashing The Closed Guard Potential: Beginner, Estevao starts with closed guard concepts and three ways to pull closed guard from standing, with the foot on the hip and the collar and sleeve grips. Then he shows what happens when your opponent opens the guard, from the knees and from standing, including the stapling leg pass and the toreando. This isn't just a list of closed guard moves, it's a complete starting system with drills that build the hip movement behind every technique.

Whether you're a white belt who keeps getting stuck on your back or a coach looking for a clear way to teach the guard, the closed guard serves as the base for your whole bottom game. Volume 2 gives you the cross collar choke and its variation, the baseball bat choke, the armbar, the kimura and the triangle choke.

Volume 3 adds the sweeps: the hip bump, the scissor sweep and its variation, the flower sweep, the pendulum sweep and its variation, and the heel sweep. Volume 4 ties it together with drills for shooting the hip high, rocking and hip shifts, hip escapes, pendulum control of the sleeves and elbows, and the hip bump, kimura and scissor drills, so the movements become automatic and work when your partner is resisting.

If you've ever wondered why some grapplers always seem to have a choke, an armbar or a sweep waiting from closed guard, it comes down to fundamentals drilled the right way.

Learn how to pull, hold, sweep and submit from closed guard with Ramon Estevao.
