What Will You Learn?

The Slovenian Judo System is a 3-part series from Aljaž Sedej, international competitor and 2x Olympian from Slovenia. Sedej is a superb tactician and quite possibly an even better instructor. High level Judo can be hard to learn. Thankfully, Aljaž Sedej is able to simplify seemingly complex techniques in a way that is beginner friendly, but also applicable to more experienced practitioners.

The series is laid out in a way that looks to give you control of the match from the very beginning. This starts with effective gripping strategies, and at times quick grip breaks. Aljaž clears up any confusion on how to deal with a wide range of grips from multiple stances. This will help you be in a better position to attack from the start of any match or sparring session. Sedej teaches how to transition from grip break, directly to gaining your own grips, and starting sequences of attack.

By deploying the grip fighting tips you learn early in the series, you will be able attack with Sedej’s battle tested throws. Aljaž Sedej shares his favorite throws that work at ALL levels. Learn to use uchi mata, kata guruma, seoi nage,  osoto gari, and others to a high-level with insight that Sedej has developed throughout his career. The series also dives in on variations and combinations of these techniques to help prepare you for different scenarios that you will encounter.

Aljaž troubleshoots common tactics that opponent’s use to defend throws. This also leads to his Ne Waza series. When you are able to deploy an onslaught of offense, you will no doubt encounter defensive positions from your opponent. This is where having razor-sharp ne waza comes in handy. Sedej’s strategies will help you develop consistent and decisive attacks to secure the submission!
