Nicky Ryan to Take on Urijah Faber at Polaris 10

Polaris has staked its claim as one of the forerunners among competitive grappling promotions.

They continue to deliver, with exciting match ups, as some of grappling’s most jaw dropping contests in recent history have taken place on the Polaris stage. Continuing the tradition, Polaris 10 is set to air on May 25th, and the promotion is already building anticipation for the event with the recent announcement of a super fight between Nicky Ryan, and Urijah Faber. The two fighters will have the honor of headlining the card.

It will be interesting to see how the skill sets matchup between these two. Urijah Faber is of course a storied MMA competitor with years of combat experience. But Faber recently seems to be interested in making the jump into the competitive grappling circuit. He appeared in the last Quintet alongside Nicky’s brother, Gordon Ryan, who lead team alpha male to a decisive victory. Faber is no doubt one tough combatant, but is he ready for Nicky Ryan?

Ryan has been on a tear lately. Under the watchful eye of John Danaher, he’s been been plowing his way through legends of the sport, and doing so with an incredible amount of efficiency, dominance, and skill. At such a young age, Ryan has put in an incredible amount of work, seemingly putting the life of a regular teenager on hold to pursue his dream of being the best no gi grappler of all time.

Nicky Ryan is on fire. This is his time, and it’s going to take someone pretty special to take him off course. Is Faber that guy? We’ll have until May 25th to find out!
