Gregor Gracie hasn’t had an easy life, but he has an advantage that most any serious grappler would kill for: He’s a Gracie. His family invented and perfected this system of Jiu Jitsu, spread it throughout the world and changed Martial Arts more than any other family in history. They are a lot like most families in one respect though: they want their own family members to be the best. In Jiu Jitsu, everything Is earned, nothing is given ... but it does help to have the best instructors in your family making sure you learn everything right along the way. For the Gracies, Jiu Jitsu is all about efficiency. It is a very simple game: Use the most efficient moves and concepts + minimum effort and maximum efficiency in every spot.
Gregor was bred to be a fighter. He studied under his famous uncle Carlos: Founder of Gracie Barra – the most prolific competition team of all time and the IBJJF. Then he studied under his uncle Rillion, former world open class champion, and then earned his black belt under his legendary uncle Renzo. Along the way he learned all of the family secrets, all of the little nuances that make the difference between something working and not working... and oh yeah, he spent his whole life on the mat: that helps too!
As a competitor Gregor is extremely accomplished. In high school he wrestled and adapted to it quickly because of his lifetime of Jiu-Jitsu, and became a high school all American. He won the world championships at Purple, the Pans at Brown, and placed in the ADCC against the likes of Pablo Popivich and Marcelo Garcia. Gregor has one of the most efficient systems from the closed guard. He utilizes simple and effective chains to sweep or submit. There is one grip that he uses on his Overhook series from Closed Guard that is so simple you won’t believe it. There are easy subs everywhere, you just aren’t seeing them: Gregor will unlock the mystery for you. Whether you are a white belt or a black belt, you will learn a variety of new attacks to add to your arsenal! You will be able to implement “Old School” attacks and trick those pesky new school guard players! Minimal strength and flexibility is required to learn Gregor Gracie’s system! When It comes to passing, Gregor is equally skilled: he can teach you to be a wizard. When you know the basics , I mean really know the basics , very tough guards to pass such as the lasso guard, De La Riva guard, spider guard become easy.
Gregor Gracie’s DVD set will give you the opportunity and resource to develop a simple, effective, and well-rounded “Old School” bjj game! Enhance your Jiu Jitsu today and learn authentic “Old School” bjj with this incredible DVD set.
When it comes to finishes, Gregor is on a whole different level than almost every instructor out there. He was bred to finish. He comes from a family that scoffs at double guard pulls, advantages and the Berimbolo. He doesn’t talk about grips, he talks about specific placements. He doesn’t mean put your “choke grip in against the neck,” he will tell you “just a little bit above the collar bone.” Precision matters. Once you learn Gregor’s finishes you will have a whole different understanding and your finishing percentage will skyrocket All of the little concepts: like where exactly to place a grip, these are the details that add up and make the difference between winning and losing.
