What Will You Learn?

Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: White to Grey Belt Fundamentals

Introducing our exciting and informative Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructional, “White to Grey Belt FUNdamentals: A Guide for Parents &Instructors.” This instructional serves as the perfect sequel to our previous program, “Teaching Little Ninjas.”

In this guide, we aim to answer some common questions that parents and instructors often have. How can you help your child improve their skills? How can you keep their interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? What techniques should they be familiar with by the time they reach the grey belt level? And importantly, what knowledge should they possess before competing?

Our objectives for this program are clear. We want to enhance the mobility of our young practitioners by focusing on agility, balance, and coordination - the ABCs of movement. We also aim to increase their technical knowledge, ensuring they have a solid foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Additionally, we will provide an understanding of the objectives and the IBJJF points system, preparing them for future competitions. And of course, we want to make sure that they have fun while training, fostering a lifelong love for the sport.

Allow us to introduce ourselves - Luke and Amy Harris, owners and operators of the Hayabusa Training Centre Ltd. located in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. With both holding black belts in Judo, Amy being a brown belt in BJJ while Luke is a 3rd-degree black belt, we have over 15 years of experience coaching BJJ and Judo. Our program currently has 500 students, ranging from children as young as 2 years old to adults. We offer 56 classes per week in various martial arts, catering to the diverse needs of our students. As parents ourselves, we understand the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.

Join us on this incredible journey as we equip your child with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With our expertise and passion for the sport, we are confident that your child will thrive and develop a lifelong love for this martial art.
