You put in the hours. The rounds. The sweat that soaks through the gi and the rashguard.
You pass, you pressure, you grind, and still, something feels missing.
It isn’t an effort. It isn’t toughness. It isn’t “more techniques.”
It’s the structure that makes your techniques inevitable
The understanding that decides the outcome of every roll, especially when the opponent across from you isn’t giving an inch.
Go Further Faster: Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes, the new instructional series by John Danaher with BJJ Fanatics, was built for athletes who already live on the mats and still want more.
More Clarity
More Control
More Progress
Not another grab-bag of moves. A framework: how positions connect, how control is built, and why the smallest adjustments change everything against a resisting, intelligent opponent.
This is where the body meets the mind, where repetition turns into reason, and every movement begins to make sense.
You Can’t Escape What You Don’t Understand
You know the feeling: You’re deep in a round, breathing hard, sweat stinging your eyes, and suddenly you’re flat on your back.
Your opponent’s shoulder crushes across your jaw.
Your hips are pinned, your frames collapse, and every attempt to bridge just feeds their control.
You’ve drilled escapes a thousand times. You know the names: Side control, mount, north-south, but in the chaos of a real roll, they blur together into one thing, pressure you can’t solve.
It’s not that we don’t train enough.
It’s that we don’t yet understand the logic that makes every movement matter.
We fight strength with strength, motion with motion, rather than breaking down the structure that gives the opponent their power in the first place.
Because every “pin” is more than a position: It’s a puzzle.
And without the key, the conceptual map of where the pressure truly lives, you end up trapped inside the same patterns, no matter how many hours you roll.
John Danaher saw this in world-class athletes and hobbyists alike. They didn’t lack effort. They lacked the architecture of understanding, the foundation that turns struggle into strategy.
The Foundation That Makes Every Technique Work
Every escape, sweep, and submission in Jiu-Jitsu rests on something deeper, a hidden framework that holds the entire art together.
At the heart of the art lies a simple but powerful idea: all Jiu-Jitsu skills are built upon a small set of essential body movements, technical mechanics, core concepts, tactical reactions, and grand strategy.
Without that foundation, every technique is fragile.
You can train endlessly, put in the hours, drill until muscle memory takes over, and still watch your moves crumble the moment a skilled opponent adds real resistance.
This underlying structure is what transforms repetition into mastery.
It connects what you do to why it works, giving you the keys to victory in every exchange.
Once you understand these underlying principles, you stop chasing techniques and start building systems.
Movements become solutions
Pressures become opportunity
Control becomes inevitable
This is the purpose behind Go Further Faster: to provide you with everything you need to accelerate growth while strengthening the foundation that supports it.
When you understand the structure beneath the fight, every technique you already know becomes sharper, faster, and far more effective against a resisting, thinking opponent.
Get Go Further Faster → Get Go Further FasterThe Mind Behind the System
Classes give you the body. Danaher gives you the mind.
John Danaher is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Renzo Gracie, widely regarded as one of the best coaches of his generation.
But far beyond the belt, he is a thinker, a system builder, and one of the few instructors whoturned Jiu-Jitsu into a science. While many reach black belt through years of repetition, Danaher reached mastery through relentless analysis and understanding.
He began training at 28, while completing a master’s degree in Philosophy at Columbia University and working nights as a bouncer in New York. From those early days at Renzo Gracie Academy, he became known for his obsessive work ethic, spending up to fourteen hours a day on the mats, studying, testing, and refining ideas.
His approach wasn’t just physical.
It was intellectual.
He treated Jiu-Jitsu as a system of principles to be understood, not memorized, a framework that could be taught, tested, and improved.
That dedication shaped generations of champions and proved one thing beyond doubt.
His love for the art has defined him as an instructor.
Now, through the new instructional video series GO FURTHER FASTER, Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals, you gain direct access to that mind.
Where Understanding
Replaces Instinct
There’s a moment in every roll when movement stops making sense.
You know what to do… The escape, the bridge, the frame But it’s like watching the solution slip through your hands.
That’s where understanding
changes everything
In Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes, John Danaher takes those moments of frustration and slows them down. He shows what’s really happening: the invisible structure of control, the reason a frame fails, the instant an escape can begin.
Seeing it on video lets you pause the chaos to study what you might have missed mid-roll. It’s like replaying your toughest rounds with someone explaining the hidden logic behind each exchange.
You don’t just learn to get free.
You start to understand why you were trapped in the first place, and how to make every escape a little more certain.
How far do you want to go?
After training fades into silence, the real work begins, making sense of what happened.
Progress depends on structure, on seeing how movement, timing, and control connect beneath the surface of the roll.
That’s the purpose of Go Further Faster
The system organizes Jiu-Jitsu into three connected domains: standing, top, and bottom, each built around five core skill sets that hold the art together.
The system organizes Jiu-Jitsu into three connected domains: standing, top, and bottom, each built around five core skill sets that hold the art together.
It gives form to what most only feel: the progression from balance to pressure, from pressure to control, from control to freedom.
Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes marks the beginning of that path, the study of how calm replaces panic and how understanding replaces instinct.
It’s where the foundation of composure is built, and where real progress begins to take shape.
Mastery grows when awareness sharpens. When the body moves with reason, Jiu-Jitsu finally reveals its logic.
