What Will You Learn?
Daniel Beleza Is The Oldest Man Ever To Appear In The Finals Of The World Championships &You Can Learn His “Nasty” Guard Sequences &Secrets To Quickly &Easily Wreck Everyone In Your Gym – Even The Black Belts!
Daniel Beleza is 41 years old. He’s the father of a 3 year old girl, he teaches classes and is an otherwise normal working father. But when he is on the mat, there is nothing normal about him. Daniel’s guard is incredible. No one it seems can solve it. He goes to IBJJF tournaments and he usually has his poor opponent in a Triangle in seconds.
The secret lies in his guard. Once you know the secrets it isn’t hard to implement. It is so well thought out and the funny thing is that he relies on knowledge, not his superior physical attributes. He flies in and out of closed guard, into Lasso and Spider with a few minor adjustments that let any old guy use his system and still embarrass the younger guys.
Daniel Beleza Biography
Daniel Beleza was born on the 2nd of April, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. He and his family moved to Fortaleza when Daniel was 8 years old and it was in the North-eastern city that Daniel made his initiation in Martial arts, first through Kickboxing at age 14 and 4 years later in Jiu Jitsu.
There are a few principles that Daniel always sticks to:
1. Keep Your Legs High In Guard Most passes happen because the guarder keeps his feet on the hips. Only keep a foot on your opponent’s hip if you have his hand on that side controlled. Otherwise keep your foot higher – on the bicep..
2. The Legs need to work like hands. If someone starts smashing your Spider Guard, you need to pummel your feet just like hands. When it is legs against hands – legs always win.
Once you “get” these principles, your guard game will open up.
It doesn’t matter how young or strong your training partners are – when you are able to use your legs against their arms the right way – you will win, every time.
He found BJJ after many of his friends joined a gym (the Nova Uniao – CE, now named SAS) and repeatedly asked him to tag along. When Daniel Beleza did his first class he realized he had found his true calling. Training under Carlos Pinto Sá (mostly known as “Sazinho”) Daniel’s became one of the best fighters in the state and in the country.
