Black Belt Matheus Gonzaga Raises Over $2200 for Tap Cancer Out
Matheus Gonzaga is a black belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete and competitor. As a purple belt, Matheus won the prestigious IBJJF World Championship. Matheus has been a longtime member of the BJJ Fanatics family who has recently relocated to San Diego to join the prestigious Atos Jiu Jitsu Team.
As an instructor, he has shared his knowledge with practitioners around the glob on three great releases within the BJJ Fanatics catalogue, The Lightweight Guard, Side Control Masterclass, and I Got Your Back focused on his back submission game.
Recently, Matheus coordinated a two day sale of his instructional products through which 100% of the profits would go to benefit the non profit organization Tap Cancer Out, which works closely with the jiu jitsu community by organizing and holding seminars and events to help raise money to fight cancer and get the world closer to a cure.
Through that two day sale, Matheus and BJJ Fanatics were able to raise over $2200 to benefit the Tap Cancer Out organization and mission. Funds donated to Tap Cancer Out benefit 4 different organizations-- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. To date the organization has raised over 2.25 million dollars to benefit these organizations.
Matheus Gonzaga's efforts are a reminder of how close and charitable the BJJ community can be and that no matter what the fight, we all have each other's backs.
