Kron Is BACK! Gracie To Sign With UFC

Posted by Fanatics Authors on

Kron Gracie, ADCC champion black belt and son of Rickson Gracie, is reportedly set to sign an MMA contract with the UFC, most likely to compete in the featherweight (145 pound) division. The current Rizin Fighting Championship fighter is undefeated in MMA competition, with a 4-0 record, every win coming by submission. The reports come by way of MMA Journalist Brett Okamoto of ESPN, who said on Twitter:

Kron has been a BJJ superstar for quite a while and has had a lot to live up to as the son of Rickson Gracie. He's got a very fundamental style, showing on the mat just how effective the basics are at the highest levels. His biggest accomplishment comes in the form of a 2013 ADCC Championship, and he has medaled at the Pan American and World Championships as well. He holds submission victories over Garry Tonan, Otavio Sousa, JT Torres, and Leandro Lo, and trains regularly with Nick and Nate Diaz in Stockton, CA.

Gracie fights at featherweight, placing him in the same division as champion Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, and (interestingly enough) fellow Gracie black belt Brian Ortega. While he will have to earn his way up the rankings, no one can doubt that Kron is bringing some of the best grappling in the division to any fight.
