Nick Rodriguez Dominant In Polaris 11 Victory

Although he didn’t get to utilize his fan favorite strangle from the back, Nick Rodriguez showed plenty of mat awareness and poise on his way to defeating Ben Dyson. Rodriguez has been full steam ahead in 2019. Just recently he was an integral part in Team BJJFANATICS dominant victory where he took on athletes with extreme experience advantages, but Rodriguez keeps steam rolling forward. Literally.

Rodriguez was able to use his wrestling skills and late guard passes to earn a decisive victory at Polaris 11. He hit several BRUTAL blast double leg takedowns that received a good reaction from the crowd. Nick’s wrestling has been a deciding factor in most of his matches. Although Rodriguez was able to have ample success from the feet, Dyson was able to utilize a strong closed guard to force a stalemate.

Towards the end of the match Rodriguez showed no signs of slowing down. In the last minute of the match is where he hit a SMOOTH cartwheel pass combination that is quickly becoming his calling card. This is a position that often leads Rodriguez’s opponents to turtle away from his passing attempts, which in turn leads to beautiful jaw smashing strangles.
