In this video, Lucas Lepri explores some important concepts on balance and base. One of the first points that he makes is if you switch levels and angles it is more difficult to stop you. He notes another important detail when our opponent pushes us. It is to our advantage to let our opponents over extend themselves when they push against us. Lepri states that we can follow him back and they attack in another direction. A third key detail is in regards to posture. Lucas likes to play a position with head lower than his hips. This posture is difficult for his opponents. Fourth, Lepri states that side to side movement is extremely important. Faria closes with saying that while these concepts are simple they can add real value to anyone’s game no matter the person’s size or body type.
This video is a wonderful example of Lucas Lepri’s expert grappling knowledge and exceptional teaching ability. He has an exceptional eye for details. Additionally, he communicates information so that it can be understood by even the novice grappler. Well done Lucas. The grappling community is lucky to have you.
