WHAT IS SUBVERSIV
Subversiv grappling is a team organised competition, where teams will battle out to see which is the best bjj teams. With the success of the EBI format, and the Quintet schedule, the Fight 2 Win promotion has combined elements of both forms to create a diversely different style of grappling competition. There is a unique set of rules that govern Subversiv, and this is what makes the new promotion popular across the board. All teams have three members each, one member under 180 lbs, one member over 180 lbs, and one openweight female member. The competition uses a best of three style of format, meaning if two out of the three competitors win, then so does the team. Subversiv uses an EBI style of rulings where competitors will be stood up if they spend too long on the ground without any action happening. This brand new exciting format has many high calibre teams lining up to compete, as they look to become number one in the world of Subversiv BJJ.
HOW DOES TEAM JIU JITSU EFFECT THE DYNAMIC OF BJJ
For years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions have been a singular affair, as practitioners from all different walks of life have competed in a one on one style of tournament environment. The bjj comp system has been set in stone, as the age, rank, and weight categories, coupled with the open weight categories have been the normal scheduling for BJJ competition. Due to the evolution of BJJ, tournaments like the Quintet have become extremely popular, as a new option of BJJ competition. Subversiv is the latest installment of team Jiu Jitsu, as this has an extremely diverse effect on how BJJ is seen internationally. The team dynamics of subversiv BJJ is excellent, as practitioners will band together, and battle other teams in this new style of format. Even though each match is still one on one, it takes at least two out of the three competitors to win, in order to win the match. This means each team could have the best BJJ competitor in the world win, but still lose the matchup. This is a great new development in the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, especially with the culmination of adding female competitors into the mix.
