What’s Next for UFC Superstar Conor McGregor?

,

There’s a lot going on in the world of one of the UFC’s biggest superstars, Conor McGregor.

If you’re unaware of these recent developments, I’m here to fill you in. Whether dramatized by the media or not these things are worth a read.

A couple of weeks ago Conor McGregor was charged with strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief in Miami, Florida. McGregor destroyed a fans cell phone outside of a night club. He then proceeded to take the fans cell phone and leave with it. He was later arrested for the incident.

I think a lot of people think about how awesome being famous would be. But imagine being in the public eye 24/7 and always being approached by someone. And not all of those times are people being the most respectful. It would be tough. Most of us have no idea how stressful it might be. We’re all human and need our space.

With that being said, who knows exactly why McGregor handled the situation with the fan the way he did, I wasn’t there. But I think it’s safe to say he made a mistake, which he openly apologized for. We sometimes hold celebrities to such a high standard, we forget they aren’t perfect and make mistakes just like regular civilians do. Good for McGregor for making the adult decision to try and right his wrong with his apology. We’ll find out more after April 10th, where he’ll appear in court for the crime.

In other news on McGregor that has the Mixed Martial Arts world buzzing, he’s announced his retirement! Bringing much confusion to the people, considering the fact that he has a huge fight coming up with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in July. Cerrone says that McGregor’s retirement announcement is a “ploy to stay relevant”.

But maybe McGregor just wants to spend time with his family and build on other avenues of his life. After becoming one of the most popular and talented Mixed Martial artists in the world, he has a lot of things going for him. He has a very lucrative whiskey brand and also has opened up an extremely successful Mixed Martial Arts academy among other things. I think we can all appreciate and agree on the fact that it’s a very beautiful thing to open up an incredible place like he has to train the next generation. Nobody knows the true intentions behind his retirement announcement but I’m sure more is going to be revealed on the topic at hand very soon!

The media still isn’t letting Conor McGregor quite off of the hook yet. They say big things in life come in threes and that is proving to be true in McGregor’s case. Not even a day later, just a few hours after McGregor’s retirement announcement the New York Times released news that he been accused of and is being investigated for sexually assaulting a woman in Dublin, Ireland this past December. He was arrested for the accusation in Dublin this past January. McGregor was released shortly after questioning. McGregor’s people have stated that this scenario is not linked to his retirement announcement whatsoever!

With all of the chatter going on in the Mixed Martial Arts world and just the sports world in general, I hope everything plays out smoothly for Conor McGregor. I’m a huge fan, as are millions of other people. I would love to see this fight with McGregor and Cowboy go down! I think it would be an amazingly entertaining fight!

Is this just a string of bad luck for the Irish golden boy? Or is it just a bombardment of overly dramatic manipulation tactics by the media storming down on Notorious’ popularity to try and taint his name? Something we can’t be completely sure of until more gets brought out into the open. I’m more than curious to see what else gets brought to light. I also would love McGregor to continue to be a part of the sport we all love so much. Maybe even see a rematch with Floyd “Money” Mayweather if we’re lucky!

Thank you for taking the time out to read everyone! We’ll keep you updated.
