Devin Powell began training in MMA so that martial arts could serve as a creative outlet that he needed to cope with the boredom of his day job. Devin Powell then began competing in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in his area and attained a lot of success. 

Devin Powell then began to compete in Amateur MMA in 2010, losing his first match by split decision. This would make Devin Powell take a year off from competing, however when he made his return a year later and would win his next three matches. 

Devin Powell would then go on to make his professional debut in 2012 after being ranked #1 among amateur lightweight MMA fighters in the Northeastern United States.

Devin Powell then went on to become the owner of his own MMA gym the Shop MMA academy in Somersworth, New Hampshire, when the gym’s previous owners decided to stop training people. 

Devin Powell would then make his World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) debut in June of 2016 beating his opponent by split decision. 

Devin Powell then took a fight just a month later because he knew UFC president Dana White would be there filming his reality show  Dana White: Looking for a Fight where he looks for new MMA talent at local shows. 

Devin Powell would win the fight by submission in the very first round. 

Devin Powell would then make his UFC debut in 2017 at UFC Fight Night: Rodríguez vs. Penn. Devin Powell would compete for the organization for two years before moving to Bellator in 2019 and then ultimately retiring from the sport in 2020.

Devin Powell would then compete at T2T: Toe 2 Toe Fights 2 on May 9, 2015, where he would defeat Scott Jurgen by TKO. 

In his next fight, Devin Powell would face off against Jeff Anderson at CZ 57: Clash of the Titans. Devin Powell would win this match via unanimous decision. 

At NEF 22: All Roads Lead Here, Devin Powell would face off against Jesse Erickson for the vacant NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Championship. Devin Powell would win that match and the title via TKO in the very first round. 

Devin Powell would then make his WSOF debut at WSOF 31 against Tom Marcellino and win the match via a split decision. 

Devin Powell then competed one month later at NEF: Lookin' for a Fight at a 160 pound catchweight bout against Jonathan Lemke and win the match via rear-naked choke in the first round. 

Devin Powell then went on to make his UFC debut against Drakkar Klose at UFC Fight Night: Rodríguez vs. Penn and ultimately lose the match via unanimous decision. 

Devin Powell would, unfortunately, lose his next fight against Darrell Horcher at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs. Lee, losing a split decision. 

Devin Powell then finally picked up his first and only UFC win against Álvaro Herrera at UFC on Fox: Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 winning in the first round via TKO.

Devin Powell would then have his last match in the UFC against Jesus Pinedo at UFC Fight Night: Magny vs. Ponzinibbio and would lose via unanimous decision. 

After that match, Devin Powell would part ways with the UFC and move over to Bellator. Devin Powell would make his Bellator debut at Bellator 232 against Marcus Surin and win in the second round via a mounted guillotine. 

Devin Powell would go on to have his last professional MMA match at Bellator 252 against Manny Muro and lose by unanimous decision. After the match, Devin Powell would announce his retirement.
