The UFC Fight Night: dos Santos vs. Tuivasa (also known as UFC Fight Night 142) was held on December 2, 2018 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia. This even was the second time the UFC has visited Adelaide (following the UFC Fight Night: Miocic vs. Hunt in May 2015).

Main Events:
The event headliner was the heavyweight bout between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa, and Australian fighter, who ranked #11 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings with an undefeated record of 8-0 coming into the fight. The co-main event pitted former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua against Australian fighter, Tyson Pedro- who was ranked #14 in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings prior to the fight.
In the main event, Junior dos Santos had his movement hindered by a crushing leg kick by the 8-0 Tai Tuivasa. However, he was able to knock the Australian fighter down with a counter right hook in Round 2, and followed it up with ground and pound from the mount until referee Herb Dean called the stoppage at 2:30 in Round 2.
In the co-main event, Shogun weathered a beating in the first round, when an inadvertent head butt wobbled him. He was able to TKO Tyson Pedro with an overhand right and follow-up punches in :43 of the third round. Shogun, who turned 37 a few days ago on Nov. 25th, has now won four of his last five fights.
The other "name" bout was that of Australian MMA star Mark Hunt, "The Super Samoan" vs. American Kickboxing Academy heavyweight Justin Willis. While Hunt is known for his spectacular walk off knock outs, this fight proved to be a lackluster affair, with neither fighter doing much. By the end of the fight, the audience was booing for lack of action, and Justin Willis defeated Mark Hunt via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Bonus Awards:
Kai Kara-France vs. Elias Garcia was named the Fight of the night, and the Performance of the Night went to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Sodiq Yusuff, with all four fighters earning an additional $50,000 bonus.
