UFC on ESPN: Ngannou versus Velasquez
UFC on ESPN: Ngannous versus Velasquez will take place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on February 17, 2019. In the main event, former two time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez will be facing former title challenger Francis Ngannou. While Cain is a former champion, he is currently unranked by the UFC as he has not fought since UFC 200 on July 9, 2016, when he defeated Travis Brown by TKO in the first round.

He was scheduled to fight against Fabricio Werdum (instructor of The Progressive Guard For MMA), in a rematch where Velasquez lost the first fight by guillotine in the third round, at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016. However, the Nevada State Athletic Commission failed to approve Cain to fight, after they decided that he was unfit to fight due to bone spurs on his back- and he has not fought since.
Francis Ngannou (12-3) is the current #3 ranked heavyweight in the UFC. He is looking to get back to his winning ways- where he was a stellar 5-0 in the UFC during 2016 to 2017, finishing all of his opponents, and winning the Performance of the Night honors twice, and the Knockout of the Year in his 2017 match against Alistair Overeem. However, 2018, he lost to Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 on January 20, 2018 at their UFC Heavyweight Championship bout, and then lost his next fight to Derrick Lewis at UFC 226 on July 6, 2018 via a unanimous decision. At UFC Fight Night on November 24, 2018, Ngannou was able to TKO Curtis Blaydes in 45 seconds of the first round, winning him the Performance of the Night honors.
