Boughanem held the WKN super welterweight Muay Thai title, showcasing his dominance in the sport. Additionally, he has previously reigned as the Lumpinee Stadium, Rajadamnern Stadium, and WBC Muay Thai World Middleweight Champion, further solidifying his legacy as a Thai boxer.

Thai Boxing Fundamentals by Youssef Boughhanem

Youssef Boughanem's rise to prominence began with his participation in the inaugural Thai Fight event in 2010, where he honed his skills as he triumphed over Australia's Jason Lea in the round-of-sixteen, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Undeterred, he continued his winning streak, facing Ireland's Anthony Kane in the quarter-finals on October 25, 2010. In a hard-fought battle, Boughanem secured a well-deserved victory through an extra-round decision, proving his determination and resilience.

In March of 2012, Youssef Boughanem found himself pitted against the formidable Rajadamnern Stadium champion, Diesellek TopkingBoxing. The stakes were high as they clashed at Lumpini Stadium, a venue renowned for showcasing the best of Muay Thai. Unfortunately for Boughanem, the match ended in a knockout when Diesellek delivered a powerful left kick, leaving an indelible mark on their encounter. The outcome served as a testament to the level of competition and the unforgiving nature of the sport, further fueling Boughanem's determination to rise above such challenges in his ongoing journey.

Following his initial participation in Thai Fight, Youssef Boughanem embarked on a journey that took him to various programs in Thailand and France. However, in 2013, he made his triumphant return when Thai Fight introduced its groundbreaking format: THAI FIGHT Kard Chuek. This revolutionary concept involved fighters donning rope bindings instead of gloves, a defining characteristic that would shape future Thai Fight events.

Boughanem eagerly entered the inaugural THAI FIGHT Kard Chuek tournament, commencing his path to glory. On June 1, 2013, he showcased his skills by securing a second-round knockout victory over Salahdine Ait Naceur in the 1/16 finals. Continuing his momentum, Boughanem swiftly defeated Sebastien Billard in the 1/8 finals with a first-round knockout on June 15, 2013.

In 2015, after a year-long hiatus from the promotion, Boughanem made a spectacular comeback to Thai Fight. His notable return took place at Thai Fight Vietnam on October 24, 2015, where he outperformed Russian fighter Yurik Davtyan, securing a victory by decision.

Boughanem's achievements in Thai boxing also extended beyond just the Thai Fight promotion. On August 15, 2015, he etched his name in history by delivering a third-round knockout victory over Rungrawee P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym, securing the prestigious Omnoi Stadium middleweight title. He further solidified his reputation by successfully defending the Omnoi Stadium title, outpointing Chanajon P.K. Saenchai Muaythaigym over five rounds on September 26 of the same year.

In June 2016, he claimed the WAKO Pro 71.8 kg Championship by defeating Armen Petrosyan. Later that year, on August 31, he emerged as the Rajadamnern Stadium middleweight champion with a fourth-round knockout win against Kompetch Lookprabat.

In 2018, Boughanem retained his Rajadamnern title and secured the WBC Muay Thai Middleweight World Championship with a third-round knockout victory over Noppakaw Siriluck Muaythai. Additionally, he won the IBF Muaythai middleweight title by defeating Payakdam Extra Cole Film via a third-round TKO.

On May 22 of the same year, Boughanem won the Lumpinee Stadium middleweight championship by earning a fourth-round TKO triumph against Talaytong Sor. Thanaphet. He also defended his WBC Muay Thai title, claiming the ISKA Muay Thai light middleweight title in the process, in a fight against Kongjak Por. Pao In on October 13.

However, his  three year reign as WBC world champion came to an end on November 7, 2021, when he lost the title in a split decision against Liam Nolan at A Night to Remember. Despite this setback, Boughanem has continued to train and compete at the highest levels.
