Ariel began his Jiu Jitsu career at the age of 15 training in Melbourne Australia under Daniel Shaw, at the Checkmat facility in Malvern. After 3 years of training at the Checkmat academy at the age of 18, Ariel moved to Sydney to train under Daniel Sainty and Dave Brooksbank at The Dojo in Bondi, this is where Ariel would begin to develop his knack for guard retention. Three years later at the age of 21 Ariel moved to Garage Jiu Jitsu to train under Gui Neves as he became a part of the highly regarded and famous Braus Team. Ariel began to claim respect on the competition mats as he enhanced his skills through the development of Garage Jiu Jitsu.
During Ariel's rise through the coloured belt ranks, he achieved a mass of tournament medals. Ariel won several state championships while living and competing in Melbourne and Sydney. Along with many of his achievements Ariel won significant matches at the Australian titles on four separate occasions. Ariel achieved a tremendous submission win against Tomoshige Sera in one of his three Pan Pacific Championships wins as he solidified himself as one of Australia’s brightest up and coming stars. At the age of 22 Ariel had finished his degree in Physiotherapy and was now set to focus more intently on his aspirations to fight professionally in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
By the time Ariel was a Brown belt he was competing on the Abu Dhabi World Pro Tour. In 2019 Ariel finished fifth in Abu Dhabi at the Grand Slam before earning his promotion to Black belt by his affiliation coach Cicero Costha. Joining the illustrious ranks of Black belt Ariel began improving as he showcased his exceptional skills, defeating opponents like Diogo Freitas, Abdullah Nabas, Pedro Neto, Evandro Filho and Alberto Govea. Ariel placed fifth at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Los Angeles after losing to Rafael Mansur. Two months later Ariel competed in Rio De Janeiro at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam as he defeated five opponents including some world class greats. In the semi final Ariel lost by 2 points to Gabriel Sousa before winning the Bronze medal. As Ariel competed at his third Black belt tournament he placed fourth in 2020 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. Ariel has become extremely proficient, as his attacking style of Jiu Jitsu has fast become a bright spark in his future of professional grappling.

Ariel Tabak has won a multitude of Australian and Pan Pacific Championship titles throughout his extensive career. One of his best championship crowns came in 2019 after defeating the excitement machine Tomoshige Sera. Ariel was a technical wizard as he locked Tomoshige into a Triangle, where Ariel kept him there for several minutes as he tried to squeeze the finish and execute an Arm Cutter from inside the Triangle. Eventually Ariel was able to sweep Tomoshige and finish the fight inside his mounted Triangle, as Ariel was crowned the Pan Pacific Champion. Ariel has also fought extremely well on the Abu Dhabi World Pro Tour circuit, competing in Rio De Janeiro, Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi. Ariel has defeated athletes like;Evandro Filho, Pedro Neto, Diogo Freitas and Marlus De Souza.

Ariel Tabak has slowly climbed the ladder in the world scene of competitive grappling. He went from strength to strength as he raises the bar at every event he competes at. Although Ariel has performed above all expectations of himself, he has suffered through disappointment at Abu Dhabi World Pro events. As a Brown belt Ariel lost to Pedro Serrano (2 - 4) and Marasulov Daler by submission at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. Moving up into the Black belt division Ariel fought in Los Angeles at the next Abu Dhabi event. Placing fifth, Ariel lost to Rafael Mansur by an advantage and Thiago Macedo by 2 points. Ariel secured a Bronze medal after losing his semi final to Gabriel Figueiro by 2 points in Rio De Janeiro at another Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. In 2020 Ariel narrowly missed out on winning the next Abu Dhabi with close loses against Thiago Macedo 3 points to 2 and a 3 - 3 decision loss to Israel Almeida.

Ariel Tabak's Injuries!
Ariel Tabak has been plagued from extensive hip problems throughout his career. He suffered from a Labral tear in his hip, which involves the ring of cartilage (labrum) that follows the outside rim of the hip joint socket. The labrum acts like a cushion to help hold the ball at the top of the thigh bone securely within the hip socket. Ariel opted not to have surgery as he decided more physiological therapy was worth a try first. Ariel started using the TSR System which stands for Tissue Work, Stretching and Reactivation. Tissue work involves massaging muscles in a specific way to restore tissue quality, reduce pain, and improve range of motion. Stretching is then used to help restore the muscles back to their normal length. Finally Reactivation Is used to wake up the sleeping muscles. Ariel applied these methods and was successful in healing his extremely injured hips. Ariel now applies these methods to many of his clients as a physiotherapist, including passing on his knowledge to many of his teammates.

Ariel Tabak is a prolific competitor who has only just begun to light up the world stage of professional fighting. At the age of 28 he is extremely driven to become a World Champion.
