Who is Jesseray Childrey?

Jesseray Childrey is an ultra-heavyweight grappling competitor and a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. Childrey is also a coach at Nice Guy Submission Fighting in Owensboro, Kentucky. Jesseray Childrey has fought professionally in both Jiu Jitsu and MMA. He got his his start into the world of martial arts in he was 20. People around him told him that he should fight and that’s when he started training for MMA. In 2015, his focus would shift to Jiu Jitsu exclusively after suffering a handful of bad injuries. He has expressed that he found more enjoyment out of submission only styled grappling coming from MMA. All of his training and competing would end him with spot at the ADCC West Coast trials where he would place 2nd in his weight division. This would open up even more opportunities for him, having him compete internationally in Finland and multiple other ADCC trials. 

Unconventional Leg Attacks by Jesseray Childrey

Jesseray Childrey trained under Brian Jones initially in his fighting career. He was able to receive his blue belt from Jones. Later he would be trained by Israel Gomes at Killer Bees Academy. His social media pages indicate that he has earned his black belt. While competing, Childrey would end up meeting Joe Baize and Bobby Emmons, where they would offer him a spot at Nice Guy Submission Fighting.

Jesseray Childrey’s Fight List

Jesseray Childrey’s professional fighting career first started within the world of MMA, although shortlived. He fought in such events such as Turf Wars 19 and the APFC 17. Some of his amateur MMA fighting was within events such as Hardrock MMA and Bluegrass Brawl. 

Once quitting MMA, he would go on to fight professionally within the world of Jiu Jitsu. Jesseray Childrey has taken part in some of Jiu Jitsu’s most popular competitions such as the ADCC West Coast Trials, the Pan Jiu Jitsu IBJJF Championships, and the Eddie Bravo Invitationals. Jesseray Childrey’s Injuries

In 2014, Jesseray Childrey suffered from a torn ACL. This is what would shift his focus from MMA to Jiu Jitsu. By 2015, Childrey would only focus on Jiu Jitsu from then forward. He had found the sport of MMA to be highly taxing on his body.
