There he managed to find his way into a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school and from there he began to train in the art, as well as in MMA.
Kyle Bochniak started his amateur MMA career a year later in 2011 and compiled an amateur record of 5 wins and 1 loss. In 2014 Kyle Bochniak made the move to professional competition with his first fight being at CES MMA 21 on January 24, 2014, against Peter Bertucci. From there Kyle Bochniak would compete exclusively for the CES MMA promotion for his next 6 fights until he would make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz on January 17, 2016.
Kyle Bochniak took the match on short notice to fill in for Jimy Hettes who was going to fight Charles Rosa. Kyle Bochniak took on Charles Rosa and while he was able to score a knockdown in the first round, Kyle Bochniack ultimately lost the match via a split decision.

Kyle Bochniak's Best Fight of All Time
Kyle Bochniak’s best and probably most notable match was his fight against Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 223. While Kyle Bochniak did lose the match he showed his heart and drive despite being taken into deep waters by his opponent.
Kyle Bochniak’s opponent was able to maintain distance and land a lot of shots, however despite that Kyle Bochniak was still able to pressure forward on his opponent and slip and rip shots, especially early. Kyle Bochniak was able to force a brawl out of the taller and longer opponent.
Kyle Bochniak was also able to effectively defend against the vast majority of the shots that his opponent was throwing at him and anything that he did take he was about to not let it land on him clean.
As the fight went on and even after all the damage that Kyle Bochniak absorbed he was still game the whole time and you could see that the pressure was very much beginning to affect his opponent. While his opponent was desperate to get a hand on Kyle, Kyle was able to keep going. If the fight was a 5 round main event instead of just a 3 round affair, the fight would have likely ended very differently.
Despite losing the unanimous decision, Kyle Bochniak did have a great showing at this fight and even won a fight of the night bonus.
