Jessica Klimkait first started training in Judo at the young age of 5 at the Ajax Budokan Judo Club after she watched her older brother train in the art. 

Jessica Klimkait then went on to have a very successful career in Judo. In 2013, she became the first Canadian female judoka to win an age-group world championship at the Cadet (Under 18) World Championship in Miami. 

4 years later Jessica Klimkait would win gold at the 2017 Pan American Judo Championships. In 2021 Jessica Klimkait would take home a bronze medal at the 2021 Judo World Masters, a silver medal in her event at the 2021 Judo Grand Slam Antalya and finally a gold medal at that year's World Championships in Budapest. 

That same year Jessica Klimkait qualified for the 2020 Canadian Olympic Judo Team and took home a bronze medal at the Tokyo games.

Jessica Klimkait’s official fight list begins on July 1st, 2011 when she competed at both the Canadian U20 Championships Sept Iles and the Canadian U17 Championships Sept Iles taking home first place in both of those competitions. 

Jessica Klimkait then won first place in her division at the Youth Ontario International U17 just a few months after that. 

In 2012, Jessica Klimkait completed a total of 4 times, taking home first place in three of those events and second in one of them. She would go on to have similar success in 2013 however she was much more active. Jessica Klimkait competed a total of 12 times in 2013, taking home first place at 6 of those events, second at 2 and third a 3. 

Jessica would continue to be active in 2014, competing at 9 different events that year taking home first place at three of them and third palace at another three. 

In 2015 Jessica remained active and successful, competing at another 9 events and placing at all of them with 5 first places, two second places and two third places. 

Jessica then continued her success into 2016, starting off the year by taking home first place at her first two events of that year. Jessica competed another 7 times that year taking first place another 3 times aloing with 3 second-place showings. 

2017 would be yet another successful year for the Canadian Judoka as at her first event in January of that year she took home first place. The next time that Jessica competed was at the European Open Oberwart, where she took home third place in her division. After that event, Jessica would make her first appearance at the Pan American Championships that year in Panama where she took home gold in her division. 

Jessica would then compete 4 more times in 2017, taking home first place at one, third place at 2 and then in the final one she would take home 5th place. 

Jessica Klimkait would start off 2018 at that year's Pan American Championships, taking home a third place medal in her division. Jessica then competed another 6 times that year with fairly mixed success, only taking home first place in her appearance at Grand Slam Osaka. 

To start off 2019, Jessica Klimkait made her, at the time of writing, first and only move up to the 63-kilogram division for her appearance at the Canadian Elite 8 +18 Montreal. The extra weight of her opponent’s seemingly not bothering her that much as she took home first place in the new weight class. 

Competing another 7 times in 2019, Jessica Klimkait placed at all of the events with another first place at the Grand Prix Zagreb. 

Due to the global pandemic in 2020, Jessica Klimkait competed 3 times, getting 7 place at her first event that year and then first at her last two. Jessica would then be able to get more active again in 2021, starting off that year with a third-place showing at the IJF World Masters in Doha. After taking home a second-place honor at the Grand Slam Antalya, Jessica then competed at that year’s World Championships in Budapest, where she took home first place. 

Then Jessica Klimkait made her first appearance at the Olympic Games at that year’s summer games in Tokyo. Jessica took home the bronze medal in her division. The last event that Jessica Klimkait at the time of writing competed at was the Grand Slam in Antalya, where she took home first place.
