Junny Ocasio first started training in martial arts at the age of 15, starting with wrestling while attending high school in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Junny Found the sport of wrestling helpful as an outlet for his frustrations, as his home life was very turbulent with him suffering abuse. 

Junny Ocasio loved wrestling, unfortunately, his competitive time in that sport was cut short when he was 16, after suffering a torn ACL during a match. This caused Junny Ocasio to stop training in wrestling as he took time to fix his injury, something that took him 6 full years to complete. 

Junny Ocasio had surgery to fix his ACL and as soon as he was fully able to, he started to train in combat sports again. This is when Junny Ocasio joined an MMA gym and was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and after some time he decided to focus purely on grappling. 

While training at this MMA gym, Junny met Murilo Santana and the pair would begin to train together frequently. Eventually, Santana opened his now-famous Unity Jiu-Jitsu gym in New York City, with Junny going there to continue training with him and joining his team. 

At Unity Jiu-Jitsu, Junny would earn his brown belt in 2017 and eventually, in 2019, his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Junny Ocasio’s official fight list starts in 2019 at Kasai Pro 6, where he beat his first 3 opponents but lost to his fourth. Junny Ocasio then competed at the 2019 NoGi Pan Americans but lost in the first round to Malachi Edmond. Then Junny Ocasio appeared at the European NoGi Championships, where he won his first match but then got eliminated in his second. 

Junny Ocasio then went to Mexico City to compete in both the Mexico City Open and the Mexico City No Gi Open. In the gi, Junny Ocasio was eliminated in the first round by Jose Albor, losing via points. In the No GI event, Junny fared better winning both his matches. For the rest of 2019, Junny Ocasio made several single match appearances at different events 4 in total. 

This string of single matches would continue into 2020, first starting at F2W 146, where he won by Z Lock. after this Juny went on a 4 match win streak at 4 different events before losing to Kennedy Maciel by armbar at F2W 156. 

The next big event that Junny Ocasio appeared at was the No Gi Pan Americans in 2021 where he lost in the second round. The next big event after the Pan Americans that Ocasio appeared at was the NoGi Worlds in 2021, winning his first match by outside heel hook and then losing via advantage in the second round. 

Immediately after the No Gi Pan Americans were the 2021 ADCC East Coast Trials. Where he beat 4 out of 5 of his opponents, losing to the last by referee decision. Junny then finished off his 2021 competitive year at JJ CON NG where he beat both of his opponents, the first by inside heel hook and the second by points. 

Junny Ocasio then started off his 2022 competitive year very successfully appearing at both the Atlanta World Open and the Miami World Open, winning all three matches he had at those two events combined. 

At the time of writing, the most recent event that Junny Ocasio appeared at was the 2022 ADCC West Coast Trials. Junny entered the event at the 66 kg division. Junny first faced off against Anthony Lopez, winning the match via inside heel hook. He then faced Tommy Espinoza and won that match by arm bar. Junny then beat Daniel Lyons by Katagatame. For his fourth and final match at the west coast trials, Junny faced off against Deandre Corbe and lost the match by two points.
