Nathiely De Jesus or otherwise known as Nathy is a world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belt. Nathy was graded under Cicero Costha one of Marco Barbosa’s Black belts, Nathy is the wife of the world class competitor Manual Ribamar. Nathy has achieved remarkable heights throughout her grappling career, as she is a 4 time IBJJF World Champion in the Gi and a 3 time IBJJF World Champion in NoGi. Nathy has also won multiple events like Pan Americans, Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, American Nationals and the European Open. Nathy has also won multiple titles at Purple and Brown belt including Abu Dhabi Pro and IBJJF World Championships on 5 occasions. Nathy has also been a feature in super fights on shows like Fight 2 Win, Third Coast Grappling and Who’s Number 1.

Nathy began her Jiu Jitsu pathway for health reasons as per her doctors advice, she found Claudio Felix who was an affiliate of the famous Lotus Clube Academy. Nathy sustained her health with an exceptional training regime through the art of Jiu Jitsu. As she continued to train she rose through the ranks of Blue and Purple belt, where she began to compete on an international scale. Nathy decided to join (Manual Ribamar) her boyfriend's BJJ academy, and for the first time she got a taste of serious competition training. Nathy was extremely excited with her new home at the (Projeto Social Lutando Pelo Bem - which translates to “Social Project Fighting For The Good”) PSLPB academy, training under Cicero Costha. In 2015 as a Purple belt she won the IBJJF World Championship, IBJJF Pan Championship and the CBJJ Brazilian Nationals. Nathy also secured Bronze medals in the absolute division at the IBJJF World Championships and the IBJJF Pan Championships. 

Following her awesome run at Purple belt she was promoted to Brown where she continued to wreak havoc on the competition. Nathy won double Gold at the 2015 IBJJF NoGi World Championships and placed second at the IBJJF Sao Paulo International Open in the absolute division. The following year Nathy won multiple titles including;CBJJ Brazilian Nationals and the UAEJJF Abu Dhabi World Pro. Nathy also won her second consecutive double Gold this time in the Gi at the IBJJF World Championships, after the event Nathy was awarded her Black belt on the podium by her coach Cicero Costha. 

In 2016 Nathy moved to Texas in the United States of America where she found her new academy Soul Fighters, a school owned and run by Bruno Mendes. Nathy would conquer the women's division as she earned double Gold again at the IBJJF World NoGi Championships. She also won other notable tournaments like UAEJJF Grand Slam in Rio De Janeiro and double Gold at the IBJJF American Nationals. In 2018 Nathy won the IBJJF World Championship in both Gi and NoGi, she also won the IBJJF Pan Championship. 

Nathy has won everything there is to win in professional grappling, as she has showcased her exceptional skills on the mats. In 2019 she just went the extra mile as she won double Gold again at the IBJJF World Championship beating the likes of Isadora Silva, Fernanda Mazzeli and Beatriz Mesquita, making her a 7 time World Champion 4 in the Gi and 3 in NoGi. Nathy also added another double Gold performance at the IBJJF European Open. 

Over the next two years Nathy has competed at numerous events, testing her skills against high level competitors on the super fight world stage. She beat Jessica Flowers with a knee bar at Fight 2 Win 115, she also defeated Ana Carolina Vieira at Fight 2 Win 143 to claim the F2W Welterweight Championship. Nathy also defeated Kendall Reusing with a choke at Fight 2 Win 168, and she beat Jena Bishop with a sweep in overtime to claim the Third Coast Grappling bragging rights in 2020. Nathy also claimed the Fight 2 Win Heavyweight title after securing a decision win against Gabi Garcia, Nathy went on to secure a second win against Gabi at the Who’s Number 1 tournament as she secured another decision win after 15 minutes of tough competition.

Nathy has lost to athletes like;Gabi Garcia on points at the IBJJF Pan Championships, Yara Nascimento at the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, Carina Santi by points at the 2019 ADCC World Championships and Luiza Monteiro by a knee bar submission at the Third Coast Grappling event. Nathy has also suffered a defeat at the hands of Maria Malyjasiak at Fight 2 Win 154. Maria fought Nathy in a super fight for the Welterweight title as she secured a knee bar submission against Nathy. Other notable losses have been against athletes like;Gabrieli Pessahna, Isadora Silva, Laura Barker and Jessica De Silva.

Nathiely De Jesus’ Injuries!

Nathiely De Jesus has suffered from bronchitis all of her life, when she was a child she also had a hard time losing weight. After seeking advice from several doctors, Nathy was advised to start some Martial Arts like Jiu Jitsu. As she began to train and improve in the art she found herself in a much healthier place. Nathy has also suffered from sports related injuries, performing at the highest level in grappling has its fair share of aches and pains. Nathy is a proven World Champion and with her professionalism comes an ability to recover and condition her body. 

Is Nathiely De Jesus Retired?

Nathiely De Jesus has won an extensive array of competition Gold, in the last two years she has fought mainly in super fights as her career winds down. Although she has not officially retired she is definitely focusing her career towards coaching at her new academy. Nathy and her husband Manual Ribamar have collectively invested in running their new academy in Boerne Texas. Nathy has spoken about how she intends to help many of her students believe in themselves so they can see the clear roadmap towards success.
