Nicholas "Nick" Tritton is a Canadian Marital Artist who is most famous for his work as a Judoka who was a member of Canada’s national team for over 10 years and appeared at both the 2008 Olympic games in Bejing and the 2012 Olympic games in London, England. Originally born in Guelph, Ontario, Nick Tritton grew up mostly in the Perth/Lanark area of Ontario.

Who is Nick Tritton?

Nicholas "Nick" Tritton is a Canadian Marital Artist who is most famous for his work as a Judoka who was a member of Canada’s national team for over 10 years and appeared at both the 2008 Olympic games in Bejing and the 2012 Olympic games in London, England. Originally born in Guelph, Ontario, Nick Tritton grew up mostly in the Perth/Lanark area of Ontario.

Nick would eventually take up Judo and have his first recorded competition on August 21st, 2001 when he was 17 years old at the Coupe Canada Cup event in Quebec, Canada. There Nick would take home second place in the under 73-kilogram division. From there Nick would begin competing regularly eventually earning high-level accolades and becoming a member of Canada’s national Judo team. Bening a part of this team would have Nick Tritton compete at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as well as two Pan American Judo Championships, the first at the 2010 games in San Salvador, El Salvador and again at the 2011 games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Nick Tritton then made the next logical step in his competitive Judo career and went on to compete in the Olympics. Specifically, Nick competed at both the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic games in Bejing and London respectively. However, after competing at the 2012 Olympics Nick would retire from competition due to a combination of health and funding issues.

After retiring from Judo competition, Nick would make the switch over to Sambo after being urged to by the Canadian Sambo Federation. Nick would then compete in that sport, specifically at the 2014 Commonwealth Sambo Championships, the 2014 President's Cup and the 2014 World Sambo Championships.

After that Nick would eventually move to Montreal Quebec and open his own Gym, Tritton Performance, where he works as the owner and head coach, teaching Judo, Sambo and Wrestling.

Is Nick Tritton Retired?

Nick Tritton had retired from Judo competition after appearing at the 2012 London Olympic Games. After that he competed in Sambo in 2014 however since then has not competed. After retiring from the competition, Nick Tritton focused on his gym, Tritton Performance, in Montreal as its owner and a coach of Sambo, Wrestling and of course Judo.
