Owen Livesey's Best Fight of All Time

One notable judo match that Owen Livesey won was at the 2018 European Judo Championships in Tel Aviv, Israel. In the men's 81kg category, Livesey faced off against Khasan Khalmurzaev from Russia in the round of 32.

The match was a tightly contested battle, with both judokas struggling to gain the upper hand for much of the contest. However, Livesey was able to execute a beautiful uchi-mata throw, which he followed up with a quick transition into an immobilization technique to secure the ippon victory.

Livesey's win over Khalmurzaev was a significant upset, as the Russian was a highly ranked judoka and a medal contender at the event. Livesey's victory propelled him further into the competition, and he eventually finished in seventh place in the men's 81kg category.

Who Did Owen Livesey Lose To?

Owen Livesey has faced a number of losses in his judo career. One memorable match in which he suffered a defeat was during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Livesey competed in the Men's 81 kg category and faced off against Italian judoka Matteo Marconcini in the Round of 32. The match was closely contested, with neither judoka able to score a point within regulation time.

However, in the golden score period, Marconcini was able to secure a waza-ari and win the match. Despite the loss, Livesey continued to compete at a high level and has achieved many successes in his career, including winning the British Judo Championships in 2014 and 2018, as well as medaling in multiple Grand Prix and Grand Slam tournaments.

Is Owen Livesey Retired?
