Rodolfo Vieira is a four time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) World Champion and a six time World Cup champion. Rodolfo’s nickname is “Caçador dos Faixas Pretas” which translates to “Black Belt Hunter.” He was given this nickname after he won the World Pro Cup Trials in the brown and black mixed belt division, winning several matches against distinguished black belts while being still rising up through the ranks of brown belt. Rodolfo's style of Jiu Jitsu displays a very diverse set of skills, allied with a fast pace guard passing style, great cardio and huge physical prowess. This all combined to make him the most dominant Heavy weight in Jiu Jitsu's recent years. Rodolfo Vieira is also highly regarded for his guard passing skills. His recurrent matches with Marcus Almeida are among Jiu Jitsu's most famous rivalries.

Rodolfo Vieira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the 25th of September, 1989. He first made an impression on the international scene in 2009 by winning the World Cup Brazilian north trials as a brown belt in a mixed brown and black belt division. Rodolfo would go on to win his division in the World Cup with a victory over the two time world champion, Braulio Estima. Unfortunately, injuries sidelined Vieira throughout most of 2010 after his promotion to black belt. But he returned in 2011 in the black belt division, first winning his division and then the absolute division at the Pan American Championships. Rodoflo would go on to repeat this feat at the World Championships, where he faced Bernardo Faria in five out of the six finals. He would also win the World Cup.
In 2011, Rodolfo competed at the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship after he defeated Joseph Lee Blaize and Antonio Peinado Unfortunately, he lost to Deal Lister by heel hook in the semi finals. Then in 2012, after winning double gold at the World Cup and the European Championships, Rodolfo went to the WOrld Championships. He was defeated by Marcus Almeida in the quarter finals of the absolute division. Vieira then went on to defeat Xande Ribeiro, winning his weight class for a second time.
Rodolfo won his weight division at Copa Podio in Brazil in 2013. Then he competed at the World Cup where he won his weight division. Vieira retained his title in the 94 kg weight class but lost to Almeida in the final of the absolute at the World Championships. In 2014, Rodolfo put on more weight in an effort to defeat Marcus Almeida. He moved up to the 100 kg weight class. At the 2014 World Cup, Rodolfo defeated Luiz Panza to win his weight class. Again, he was defeated by Marcus Almeida in the finals of the absolute division. However, the match was much closer this time.
