UFC Veterans Have Standout Performances
UFC Fight Night 144 - Assuncao versus Moraes 2 took place on February 2, 2019 at Derrinturn, Bingo Hall in Fortaleza, Brazil. The main event featured a rematch between Raphael Assuncao and former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes. The two had previously met in June 2017 at UFC 212 with Assuncao winning the fight by split decision. In recent rankings, Assuncao was ranked as high as #3 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings, with Moraes following right behind, being ranked #4 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings. But in this fight, the rankings would not matter as Moraes was able drop Assuncao with an overhand right and then lock up a guillotine when Assuncao attempted to get up at 3:17 of the first round.
