Who Is Josh Cisneros? 

Joshua Anthony Cisneros is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt competitor. He is brother to Jacob Cesneros who is another well known Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner. In August 2020, Joshua received his black belt from Tom Knox who is a 3rd degree black belt under Cleber Luciano. Josh started training with Tom Knox and the Elite Team Visalia academy team all the way from white to to black belt. Only two short months after receiving his black belt, Joshua went on to compete and win gold at the 2020 IBJJF Pan American Championships only solidifying that he is a rising star at the age of 21.

Josh Cisneros was born on the 2nd of May, 2000. He was born and raised in California where he played lots of competitive sports from a young age, mainly wrestling. Joshua wrestled for 12 years and even wrestled at state level for the Selma High School. Joshua’s father, who trained under the legendary Royce Gracie enrolled Josh and his younger brother Jacob into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes when he was just 12. Joshua soon set his sails on making Brazilian Jiu Jitsu his career after falling in love with the sport. 

Josh has fought some of the world's toughest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners such as Kade Ruotolo, Paulo Miyao, Lucas Pinheiro and many more. Josh has racked up quite the resume over the years, winning Gold medals in the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) Pan Championships, IBJJF American Nationals Championships, IBJJF World Championships as a brown belt and juvenile and countless more. Josh Cisneros cuts down to the weight of 141.5 lbs to compete. He follows a strict diet while he prepares to dominate the competition. Cisneros says that he has few to no nerves at all anymore when it comes to competing. He is motivated by performing on the big stages and sets his eye on the main objective of winning by any means necessary. Josh Cisneros’s main goals are to win IBJJF Worlds in gi and no gi as well as winning the prestigious ADCC Championships. Josh’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lineage is as follows; Carlos Gracie, Helio Gracie, Royler Gracie / Rolker Gracie, Cleber Luciano, Tom Knox.
