Luanna Alzuguir Marton Moraes, a legend in the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Luanna is praised and respected by top competitors and practitioners throughout the sport. She was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the 16th of august, 1985. Luanna and her sister were always encouraged by her mother to play sports. Her interest in martial arts and having a gym that opened near her home led her to start training at the young age of 9. She doesn't know if that gym opening up was luck or destiny but she definitely had a knack for it.

She has now earned the rank of 3rd degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt as of 2021 under professor Marco Barbosa. Being in competition for over two decades Luanna is known for her 5 year 2009-2013 reign over the lightweight division as well as crushing the 2010 open class in the IBJJF (International Jiu Jitsu Federation) World Championships. Her accolades span from winning every major Jiu Jitsu Championship from ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) to IBJJF to entering the IBJJF hall of fame and being the number one ranked athlete in 2013. She has wins over the likes of Kayra Gracie and Gabriela Garcia to name a few. Wanting something a little different and becoming a bit exhausted from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournaments, Luanna decided to take her talents to MMA (mixed martial arts) and had some success. In october of 2017 Luanna competed against Brittney Cloudy and won using her world class BJJ talents in round 3 via rear naked choke. After her success she decided to transition back into the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu scene realizing MMA wasn't a good fit for her career.
Luanna Alzuguir is now a member of one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teams in the world, Team Alliance. Luanna’s lineage consists of Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos Gracie, Helio Gracie, Rickson Gracie, Marcelo Behring, Waldomiro Perez,Roberto Godoi, and Marco Barbosa. Luanna is widely known to be one of the most dominant lightweights of her time and continues to be an inspiration to female Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors all around the world.

Luanna Alzuguir was always involved with sports with the support and encouragement of her mother. When Luanna was 9 Marcelo Mathais opened a gym near her house. She joined and earned the rank of orange belt. Wanting to take her Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey to the next level
Luanna switched from Marcelo’s gym to the training center, a famous Sao Paulo gym with high level instruction owned by Jorge “Macaco”Patino and Roberto Godoi. There she continued to train and compete earning the rank of blue belt. After the split of Jorge “Macaco”Patino and Roberto Godoi, Luanna was left without a gym and decided to focus on a different path, journalism. There she met Marco Barbosa an old Godoi/Macaco competitor and invited Launna to starts training again. In 2018 Luanna Decided to change up the game again and train with Alliance Jiu Jitsu run by the great Fabio Gurgel. After the switch she went on to start winning all of the major Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournaments so the switch ended up being a good decision.
