Brandon Wright is an American born freestyle wrestler, his exceptional skills on the wrestling mats have shone throughout his High School and College years. Brandon has achieved 2 NAIA National Championships, Cadet Freestyle National championship and 2 IHSAA State championships. Brandon has also had several runner up results at the NJCAA Championships, US Open and the University Nationals. Brandon achieved All American honours on four occasions, he was also a National USA team member.

Brandon attended high school at Warren Central in Indianapolis, a place where he would light up the mats with his exceptional athletic abilities. Brandon would reach the pinnacle of his high school wrestling career by winning the Cadet Freestyle National Championship. Along with many other titles Brandon would become one of the best high school wrestlers in the US. He won 2 State titles, 4 Sectional titles, 2 Regional titles, 4 Semi State titles and he became a 2 time NHCSA All American as well as Brute Scholastic Duals runner up. Brandon finished his high school years with an impeccable record of 173 wins with only 12 losses. Brandon would receive a scholarship to college, but due to his bad grades and bad attitude as a junior, Brandon would be forced to take the hard way with his career.

Brandon would be forced to attend Iowa Central Community College, and in Brandon’s own words “I was a knucklehead in high school”. Throughout College Brandon became a 4 time NAIA All American and he won 2 state championships as he was undefeated in NAIA. Brandon placed second in the University Freestyle Nationals and he was a member of the 4 time National Championship team from 2011 - 2015. Brandon was also a member of the 4 time National Dual Team Champions. Brandon decided to further his career by joining Grand View College in IOWA. Brandon won other individual events like the Grand View University Open and the SDSU Open. Brandon graduated college with a BA in Liberal Arts as he finished his college wrestling career with another stellar record of 117 wins with only 10 losses. Brandon became one of the most decorated wrestlers ever coming out of college.

Brandon would wrestle all over the world as he started his International career including places all over the US and overseas places like the Ukraine. Brandon won the US Open in 2015 at 65kg and has achieved other accolades like World Team Qualifier, USA National Team Member and runner up in the US Open in 2017. Brandon has had many coaching roles throughout his career including; Viking Wrestling Club, assistant roles at Grandview and Indiana University. After retiring from professional wrestling Brandon started his own wrestling club called Wright Way Wrestling, which has been operating since 2018.

Brandon Wright was born in Indianapolis in the United States of America in 1993, Brandon is currently 28 years of age.

Growing up in Indianapolis for Brandon was inspirational, as his father Tim was a former NCAA wrestler. Tim Wright was a hall of famer for becoming the first Division 2 athlete to win four consecutive NCAA titles. Brandon was introduced to wrestling at the age of 5 by his Dad, and the passion he showed for his fathers sport was outstanding. Brandon has memories of being on the mats at Augustana College, a place where his father coached wrestlers. Brandon would grow up and make inroads towards his athletic and Olympic dreams.

Brandon is now a full time coach at Wright Way Wrestling after graduating from college. His Olympic dreams were cut short due to being reunited with his highschool sweetheart. Although Brandon has retired early in his career he has no regrets as he is now married and has four beautiful children including more recently, twins.

Brandon Wright has not lost many fights in his career, his many triumphs have come through hard work and inspiration driven by his father. One of Brandon’s losses that still haunts him was when he took on the always athletic Kendric Maple. Kendric would get the upper hand on Brandon by securing takedowns and quickly tallying points. By the end of the fight Kendric would win 10 points to 4 and win the challenge tournament.
