MAGID HAGE BIOGRAPHY

Professor Magid Hage was born on 1968, in Bahia Brazil where he lived most of his life. Throughout his life, he participated in the training of many martial arts including Karate and Capoeira. However, he finally felt at home when he discovered Jiu Jitsu in 1995. His first instructor was Professor Daniel Valverde (black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo), with whom Professor Magid Hage trained until he acquired the purple belt in 1998. In Brazil, he participated in many local and national tournaments in which he earned many titles including being the first place champion in the Copa Kildere, and the first place champion of the state of Bahia. He moved to San Diego California in December of 1998 where he came to know and learn from the Jiu Jitsu instructor Marcelo Pereira with Gracie Barra.

After much dedication and training, he earned the titles of first place champion in Copa Pacifica and in the California State Championship, and second place in the Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championship. He was awarded the Brown Belt from Professor Marcelo Pereira. Professor Magid Hage was a Jiu Jitsu instructor at the Gracie Barra School, where he acquired much experience. Today, Professor Magid Hage represents Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu in Escondido California, where he has dedicated himself to instruct adults and children in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense. He earned his black belt from legendary Carlos Gracie Jr., who he presently trains with at the Gracie Barra headquarters in Irvine California. Professor Magid Hage is certificated by Gracie Barra and obtains the certificate of Referee in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, awarded by the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Confederation and Black Belt certificated by the international Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation and United States Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation.

MAGID HAGE NATIONALITY

Magid Hage IV, known in the BJJ world for his innovative grappling and submission skills, was born in San Diego, California. With his birth and upbringing in the United States, Magid's nationality is American. However, he's also proud of his Lebanese heritage. His distinct fusion of American and Lebanese cultures contributes to his unique personality, both on and off the mats.

MAGID HAGE HEIGHT

While it is common for grapplers to keep their specific physical stats under wraps, Magid Hage's height is estimated to be around 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm). He competes in the middleweight division, which, in BJJ, caters to athletes up to 181.5 lbs (82.3 kg). These measures provide some context for Hage's height, given the weight and height correlation.

MAGID HAGE RECORD

While BJJ doesn't have a win-loss record like many combat sports, Magid Hage has earned quite an impressive competitive portfolio over the years. A black belt under Royler Gracie, Hage has numerous accolades to his name, including titles at the IBJJF Pan American Championship and the UAEJJF Abu Dhabi Pro. He is most renowned for his "baseball bat choke," which he used to secure victories against notable competitors such as Clark Gracie and Zak Maxwell.

JT TORRES VS MAGID HAGE

The encounter between JT Torres and Magid Hage at the 2014 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship is remembered for its intensity and technical brilliance. Torres, an esteemed black belt under Andre Galvao, faced Hage in the middleweight division. Although both competitors showcased their skills brilliantly, Torres managed to secure victory in this match. Despite the result, Hage's performance was lauded, particularly his aggressive submission attempts and dynamic style. This match stands as a testament to the high-level competition in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and remains a highlight of both Torres' and Hage's competitive careers.
