Garry Tonon's Best Fight of All Time

Garry Tonon's best submission grappling match is hard to nail down.  Some might argue his back and forth match with Kron Gracie within the ADCC where Garry Tonon was able to defend some of the tightest submissions by the Brazilian grappling legend would be the match that truly put Garry on the map as one of the most exciting grapplers in history.

His match with brutal leg locker Rousimar Palhares in the Polaris grappling promotion in England could also be argued as his greatest match.  The back and forth battle between the much larger Brazilian, known to violently finish leg submissions and who had been released by the UFC for his penchant to hold a submission far after a referee stoppage, will go down in history as a true nail-biter.  Though no clear victor was named and the match was determined to be a draw, Garry Tonon's performance was a clear victory for his brand and his reputation as a gamer who would take on any opponent.

Who Did Garry Tonon Lose to?

Thus far, in Mixed Martial Arts competition, Garry Tonon stands undefeated and nearing his first title shot in the ONE promotion.  As a grappler, he has faced a who's who of competitors and has been defeated by the likes of Kron Gracie, Marcus Buchecha and even his teammate Gordon Ryan who he faced in the ADCC Absolute Division in 2019.

Garry Tonon's Record

Garry Tonon's mixed martial arts record is currently 6 wins and 0 losses.  In grappling he's had 95 matches with a record of 73 victories and 22 defeats.  In many ways, his high intensity, risk-taking style can be argued to be partially responsible for some of his defeats.  Never satisfied with conservative wins and earning decisions by points, Garry Tonon remains one of the world's most exciting grapplers to watch.

Garry Tonon Injuries

Garry Tonon has had elbow surgery and is the only notable injury that has impacted his combat career.

Is Garry Tonon Retired?

Garry Tonon remains active and is training for his future return to the cage in ONE FC.
