Shawn Yacoubian is a former Boxer, Kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter from the United States of America. Shawn Yacoubian started out his journey in martial arts at the age of 15 when he took an interest in them and started training out of Benny's Jet Center in Van Nuys, California. Benny’s Jet Center is a gym founded by the American kickboxing legend Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, where he also instructed classes.

At that gym, Shawn Yacoubian trained in Kickboxing, Boxing and Karate all at the same time. The Jet Center then closed in 1994 and one of the gym’s student’s Mark Parra opened House of Champions appointing 7-time undefeated world champion Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham as a chief trainer and then Shawn Yacoubian began training there.
Shawn Yacoubian then made his kickboxing debut in 1996. From the years of 1997 to 2001, Shawn Yacoubian went undefeated. In the entirety of his amateur career, Shawn Yacoubian went 10 and 2, with both of his losses only coming by way of decision. During his amateur career, Shawn Yacoubian would win several titles, including the Super Lightweight (135 pounds) ISKA USA title as well as the IKBA California title.
In 2001, Shawn Yacoubian fought for the legendary kickboxing promotion, K-1, for a show they had at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in August of that year, a fight that Shawn Yacoubian won. That fight would be Shawn Yacoubian’s last amateur fight before becoming a professional.
Shawn Yacoubian then turned pro in April of 2002. For his debut professional bout Shawn Yacoubian would fight once again for K-1, this time for the promotions show at Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas, in which he scored a second-round KO over his opponent. Shawn Yacoubian’s performance also earned him the best fight of the night accolade.
In his next fight, Shawn Yacoubian won and earned the IKKC Light Middleweight Title. Shawn Yacoubian would then go on to win two more IKKC Muay Thai titles, making him one of the top 10 fighters in the ISKA and IKF world rankings.
Later on, after retiring from the competition, Shawn Yacoubian would open up the Yacoubian Muay Thai Academy to help train others in the martial art that he loves so much.
