Pedro Marinho Fight List
Pedro Marinho was born and raised in Angra dos Reis, a famous city located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a child he was extremely active and played all of the sports he could while he was growing up such as skating, surfing, soccer, and several types of martial arts and combat sports. He developed a fascination with combat sports, and had his first experience in capoeira. From there he went on to train Thai boxing and Western boxing through his teenage years before finding Jiu Jitsu at the age of 17.
Marinho began his journey training under Master Reinaldo Fernandes of the Brazilian Top Team, and guided him for his first 4 years in the art. In 2017, Marinho got word of a new project being started by Felipe Pena called FP Golden Team. The idea behind the project was to get some of the most talented up and coming Jiu Jitsu athletes in Brazil and give them full scholarships to train at Felipe’s training center in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The selection process for the team included a 2 day internship that Marinho attended, where he had to face the other candidates. His performance stood out and he was selected to join the team with full support from his instructor, Master Fernandes. Felipe Pena and the FP Team were linked with the Gracie Barra franchise, and it was through this network where Marinho met on of the “Red Shield” top instructors, Ulpiano Malachias. Ulpiano took a particular liking to Marinho and invited him to come and train at his gym in Houston, Texas. Seeing this as a good way to gain exposure in the sport, Marinho joined his team in 2018, where later on he received his brown belt from both Pena and Malachias. On March 13, 2021, Marinho received his black belt from Ulpiano Malachias.
