The Underground Strength System for Wrestlers by Zach Even-esh

Even-Esh found his way to the world of athletics slowly, and worked as a public school teacher for 11 years before deciding to make a full-time switch. After his fourth year of teaching, in 2002, Zach decided to strength train a few clients as a way to make extra money. He set up his back yard with some strongman-style obstacles and got to work. Shortly after this he began to create his online presence, created his own certification for training, and expanded his business.

Even-Esh is now a well known voice in the realm of strength & conditioning, as well as general fitness. He began training himself with these methods over 30 years, since he first began in 1989. In the last three decades, Zach has trained thousands of people towards their goals. His clients have ranged from kids to adults, from military operators to Olympic standouts, and have come from all over the world to work with him.

Zach Even-Esh Injuries

In a recent blog post, Even-Esh mentioned his philosophy on injuries. Since he has been training hard since 1989, there have been many injuries along the way. Some have required surgery, others have been rehabbed through careful physical therapy. The bottom line, Even-Esh says, is that each athlete knows their own body. In order to handle injury, we should take in the advice of the professionals around us and combine that with what our body is telling us intuitively.

Is Zach Even-Esh Retired?

At 46, Zach Even-Esh is still going stong. He regularly writes blog posts that discuss his age and is big on refusing to use age as an excuse. He believes that, with some careful modification, strength and conditioning can be something that you do late into your life. According to Zach, there’s just no excuse to stop at 46.

When Even-Esh isn’t actively training clients or working out himself, he finds time to create video products that detail his knowledge of conditioning workouts. He’s created a wrestling-specific system that provides grapplers with the strength, balance, and fluidity that they demand each time they step onto the mat.
