Having been a black belt since 2000, Daniel Beleza truly is a legend of the sport. Not only is he a great teacher of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he is also a very accomplished competitor representing the Sazinho Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy. Daniel has picked up 4x IBJJF World Masters titles, 4x Pan American Championships as well as multiple titles over the years in New York, Boston and Miami - a really impressive list of achievements. Following a certain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt trend at the turn of the millennium, Daniel Beleza made the transition across the United States to coach and compete. He settled in Pennsylvania. Daniel Beleza extends the lineage of Takeo Iano and Master Francisco Sá.

Daniel Beleza Biography

Daniel Beleza was born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil on April 2nd, 1976 . His family moved to Fortaleza when Daniel was only 8 years old. It was here that Daniel took interesting in martial arts, first kickboxing at 14 and then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 4 years later at age 18. Daniel found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after several of his friends joined a gym formerly known as Nova Uniao – CE, now known as SAS. Daniel would repeatedly tag along, and ultimately found his true calling after taking his first BJJ class. While training under Carlos Pinto Sá (mostly known as “Sazinho”) Daniel became one of the best fighters in the country. It was not long until Daniel Beleza put his mark on the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world. This was made more impressive by the fact that this region of Brazil frequently produced many talented grapplers.

Daniel Beleza made the decision to move to the United States in mid 2008. He sought to compete at the highest level, and as most of the big competitions are held in the United States, he opted to establish his own academy in York, Pennsylvania.
