Jon Blank is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belt who trains under Eddie Bravo’s Black belts JM Holland and Zach Maslany at the 10th Planet Academy in Pennsylvania, USA. Jon is a finishing machine who has an aggressive style of submission grappling as a part of his repertoire. Jon is known as Thor, because he used to resemble Marvel's God of Thunder. As a Brown belt Jon gained significant notoriety through his dominant performance at the Combat EBI Middleweight tournament, where he won the title. Jon also starred as he won first place at the Ultimate Mat Warriors 2 in the 170 pound division. As a Black belt Jon has secured third place at the ADCC USA Trials before going on to place 4th in the ADCC World Championships. Jon now runs his own 10th Planet affiliate academy in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Jon was fast rising through the coloured belt ranks at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. He won multiple events as he strived towards his inevitable promotion to the upper ranks. Competing as a Brown belt in 2017 Jon would secure widespread notoriety. Competing at Fight 2 Win Pro 31, Jon faced off against Jared Chumley, as Jon dominated his opponent and finished him with a Wrist Lock. In 2018 Jon would then put his name to fame as he delivered an incredible performance at the 17th installment of the Eddie Bravo Invitational. Jon dominated all four opponents securing deadly finishers, he took Kyle Chambers' back and connected with a Rear Naked Choke. In the second round Jon defeated Tamden McCrory with a slick Armbar, moving into the semi's Jon submitted Matthew Secor with a savage Guillotine. Jon took out the Gold medal after finishing Gabriel Checco with his signature Heel Hook victory.

On December 29th 2018 Jon turned 25 years of age, in a special presentation Jon was awarded his Black belt by his coaches JM Holland and Zach Maslany. Jon was extremely excited with his promotion, and he wasted no time by entering the ADCC West Coast Trials in February 2019. Jon dominated his first three matches as he secured a Guillotine victory over Ryan Gabey, an 18 points to nil desecration of Sloan Climber and a thrilling Inside Heel Hook on Wes Levigne. Jon advanced to the semi finals as he took on the world renowned Josh Hinger, losing 4 points to nil. Jon would fight back into the Bronze medal position after defeating Roberto Jimenez with an Outside Heel Hook. Jon was then rewarded with a spot on Fight 2 Win 108, where he was awarded a referee decision win over Anton Berzin. 

Jon set his sights on the Kasai Pro where he would battle test his skills against some of the world's best grapplers. Jon faced Kaynan Duarte in his first match, Jon was outclassed as he lost 9 points to nil. After his loss Jon faced one of the top ranked NoGi grapplers in the world, the Australian Craig Jones. Jon was no match for the Aussie, as Craig finished Jon with a Rear Naked Choke. Jon gained some redemption as he submitted Pedro Marinho with an Armlock in his final match. After the event Jon moved forward with his aspirations of opening his own academy, as he began operating his own 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Jon was really finding his feet in the Jiu Jitsu community and now with his new gym affiliated to Eddie Bravo's famous brand, Jon was putting his best foot forward.

Next on the calendar for Jon was the ADCC World Championship. Jon defeated Rustam Chsiev and Murilo Santana in the first two rounds of the event, before meeting the daunting task of fighting Craig Jones for a second time. Jon was motivated to win as he took on the Aussie phenomenon in the semi final. Craig was on another level as he secured yet another Rear Naked Choke victory. Jon was forced to fight for Bronze against Josh Hinger, the pair fought to the end of the time limit as Josh secured a 3 points to nil victory. Jon went on to lose his first match in the Absolute division as he was foot locked by another world class grappler in Tex Johnson.

2020 and 2021 was hampered with the pandemic that swept the nation, but for Jon he managed to squeeze in a few matches at various promotions. Jon defeated Adam Wardzinski at Grapplefest 8 and Manuel Ribamar at Fight 2 Win 154. Jon finished 2020 with a loss to Vagner Rocha at Who's Number One, the 5th edition. In 2021 Jon fought at Polaris Squads 3 in the Absolute division, as Jon fought two matches for Team USA against Dan Strauss resulting in two draws. Team USA went on to defeat Team UK & Ireland with a 7 - 0 result. Jon finished 2021 as he competed at the WNO Championships with a win against Jacob Couch with a Reverse Triangle, and a loss to Dante Leon with a triangle. Jon has just begun to mix it with the world's best grapplers as he looks forward to a comprehensive future in professional grappling.

Jon Blank was born in Bethlehem, a city in America's state of Pennsylvania. He was born on the 29th of December in 1993, he is currently 28 years of age.

Jon Blank's Early Life!

Jon grew up in Bethlehem, a city in the Lehigh Valley region in Pennsylvania. Jon was always addicted to combat sports, and as a ten year old he joined the school wrestling team. Jon became a formidable part of the Notre Dame High School Wrestling program, where he became a District 11 Champion and a two time state qualifier, along with various other wrestling accomplishments. After finishing high school, Jon was not in a financial position to follow his dreams of a college education, and becoming a collegiate wrestler also became a pipe dream. Jon decided to become an electrician so he could continue his aspirations of becoming a professional combative athlete. Jon was always interested in Jiu Jitsu and so in 2014 Jon decided to join the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Academy in Bethlehem. Jon was already well educated on the Eddie Bravo brand of Jiu Jitsu as he was a fan of Joe Rogan, Renato Laranja and the man himself Eddie Bravo. Jon started doing classes with JM Holland and Zach Maslany, and Jon was hooked as he rose quickly through the ranks earning his Black belt in about 5 years.

Jon Blank is a recent addition to the Black belt ranks, receiving his belt at the end of 2018. Since becoming a Black belt he has only lost 8 matches out of 19 fights. Jon has adapted well to the professional level of NoGi grappling with his recent fourth place at the ADCC Championships. Jon's first loss at Black belt was against Josh Hinger, who beat him 4 - 0 at the ADCC West Coast Trials in 2019. Shortly after, Jon would compete at the ADCC World Championships, losing again to Craig Jones in the semi final.
