Holy Crap - Gordon Ryan's Training Schedule
We all know that Gordon Ryan is the "King" of Modern No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / Submission Grappling. He's a younger grappler who is considered a natural. He's become one of the top and most feared grapplers in the world with only 5+ years worth of training.
He is one of the prodigies of Gary Tonon (Gordon received Black Belt from), Tom DeBlass, John Danaher and the Renzo Gracie Academy in NYC. Daily he trains with some of the best in the world including fellow grappling super-stars including Georges St-Pierre, Garry Tonon, Travis Stevens and Eddie Cummings who are just a handful of the athletes part of the DANAHER DEATH SQUAD.

Gordon Ryan is known for his all-around grappling ability. He looks comfortable everywhere... especially when attacking with leg locks or attacking chokes from the back. In fact most of his submissions from the rear naked choke or leg lock, mostly the heel hook.
Who could forgot that amazing match he had with another super star leg lock machine Craig Jones?
Craig Jones is also a master at attacking the legs, especially from half guard. If you're into the leg lock game, then click the learn more button!
But what makes Gordon Ryan such an amazing grappler? Yes, he is a natural, but natural ability only gets you so far in Jiu Jitsu. How many times have you seen a new potential super star walk into our Jiu Jitsu school only to leave 6 months later.
What really makes a super star fighting athlete ... or any athlete is hard work.
Which brings us to Gordon's Halloween training post. All we can say is WOW. How does he handle that much training volume!!!??! Most of us are lucking to get 4-5 times a week on the mat, this kid is training 4-5x a DAY!
This is what makes a super star KING grappler.

- 1130 post training schedule on Instagram
Our question is - how does he EAT enough to maintain that level of training and his jacked-ness??
What we do know is that he takes is training regimen and diet very, very seriously... and for him, his diet is probably all about how much food he can stuff in his body daily to keep this training routine up!

Gordon Ryan owes a lot of his success to John Danaher. While you and I will probably never get to experience the level of training that Gordon receives from John, nor the world class level of training partners he gets to roll with daily ... we can get an insight into the concepts, mindset, and techniques that makes Gordon Ryan (and the rest of the Danaher Death Squad) one of the best ever.
