Make 2019 Your Best BJJ Year Yet

,

New Year. New You!?!

So, how was your year? Did you train as much as you wanted to? Did you compete as many times as you thought you would? How do you feel about your progression? At the end of every year, we get a chance to reflect on our efforts and assess our progress. As we transition into 2019 it’s good to have a clear picture of what you’d like the coming year to look like. Give yourself some time to sit down and make a list of all the things you’re happy with from 2018, then jot down some ideas on where you need improve, and get a plan together. I’ve found that having something visible to refer to, and look at every day if necessary, is a great way to keep those goals in the forefront of your mind, and help bring them to fruition.

The beginning of every new year presents us with a new opportunity to get better, and breathe new life into our jiu-jitsu. January 1st might just be another day, but we can use it as a jumping off point to start working towards the next level of our training, or to accomplish another feat we may have not thought possible.

Maybe this is the year you dedicate a little more time to BJJ and make the leaps in progress you’ve been craving. This could be the year you participate in your first competition, or win your first title. You may introduce someone new to BJJ this year, and completely change their life. No matter what your plans or goals are, make sure that BJJ continues to have a spot on your schedule. It drives us more than we might think.

So, reflect, assess, visualize and get to work.

Ready. Set. Go.
