Since jiu-jitsu isn't all so mainstream as of yet, finding entertaining content pertaining it is sometimes hard to find. Sure there are plenty of technique videos, but not anything with that has any entertainment value. Below are a few documentaries we really enjoy.

ROLL: Jiu-Jitsu In SoCal
This documentary focuses on the beginnings of jiu-jitsu in Southern California. It starts off with the beginnings in the early 80s, talking about early evolution in So-Cal, and its eventual move throughout the US. It has some great interviews with old-school black belts, such as Chris Haueter and Scott Nelson. It touches on Gracie challenges and “Dojo storming” in the early days. It ends with talking about the future of jiu-jitsu in So-Cal, and the US. Give it a watch below:

Jiu-Jitsu Vs. The World
This is a great documentary, which really showcases what jiu-jitsu can do for everyone. Again, great interview with legends such as Orlando Sanchez, Renzo Gracie, John Danaher and Murilo Santana, just to name a few. There are also some really good interviews with a few female jiu-jitsu black belts, including Felicia Oh and Cindy Omatsu . This documentary really touches on how jiu-jitsu changes for you as a practitioner, and a human being. It is worth the time, and an easy watch. Link below:

BRAVE NEW WORLD - A Jiu Jitsu Film
This is a quick video, but it really hits hard. It starts off with a disheveled military veteran waking up in the morning. It doesn't show it in the film, but it doesn't look like he is having the best of what life has to offer right now. It follows him around town as he imbibes, and a stranger leads him to his first jiu-jitsu class. It proceeds from there, I don't want to spoil it. Watch the rest below:
