Rikako Yuasa Biography:

Rikako Yuasa was born on April 12, 1991 in Japan.  When she was 17 years old, she decided to join a gym for fitness and to lose weight.  After watching the women training in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes that were offered, Rikako decided to join a class with instructor Makoto Ikuta.  She later moved to the Pogona Club Gym, under the tutelage of Ichiro Kaneko.

As a brown belt, she became a student of Yukinori Sasa at Pareaestra.   Sasa is known for his Lasso Guard, which he effectively used to win the IBJJF Brown Belt World Championships in 2005, and place 3rd (Bronze) in the 2013 IBJJF World Championships as a Black Belt.  Sasa’s first and only instructor is the legendary Yuki Nakai- the founder of the Paraestra gym.
