Fight 2 Win 103: Pereira versus Ceconi

Fight 2 Win 103 took place on March 1 in Houston, TX at the Ayva Center.   The main event was Gutemberg Pereira, the upcoming star from GF Team who is an IBJJF purple belt and brown belt gi and no gi world champion, versus Alexandro Ceconi, IBJJF black belt bronze medalist. Gutemberg is the Fight 2 Win heavyweight champion, and Alexandro is the Fight 2 Win masters heavyweight champion, and this match was for the undisputed heavyweight title.  The co-main event was Hannette Staack versus Amanda "Tubby" Alequin. Staack is a legend in the sport, as she is a five time IBJJF black belt world champion, as well as a multiple time ADCC World Champion, winning her weight class and absolute in 2007 (check Building Foundations by Hannette Staack). Amanda Alequin is a black belt under World Champion Marcio "Pe de Pano" Cruz, and is a IBJJF brown belt gi world champion, as well as an IBJJF black belt no gi world champion.

In the main event, Gutemberg Pereira was able to dominate Ceconi, as he pulled guard and swept Ceconi.  From there, he was able to pass the guard, eventually mounting and securing a triangle for the submission victory.   In the co-main event, Staack and Alequin had an exciting back and forth match, trading leg submission attempts. After the hard fought 10 minutes was up, the judges awarded Hannette Staack the decision victory,  becoming the Fight 2 Win Featherweight Champion.
