These two are among the biggest names and most prolific competitors in the sport and are set to do battle under the Fight 2 Win rule set. Thankfully for us Fight 2 Win continues to put on stellar shows and expands opportunities for Jiu-Jitsu to make an impact around the U.S.

Lovato, a Saulo Ribeiro black belt, suffered a recent set back in his MMA career. Not a loss mind you, but more of a postponed opportunity. He was set to face Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 214 when Mousasi had to withdraw from competition due to injury. So instead of sitting on the shelf waiting for the action to come to him, Lovato is choosing to keep busy. Rafael is one of the few BJJ athletes who has transitioned to MMA and still continually put grappling skills to the test against some of the best Jiu-Jitsu specialists in the world.

Since making his Fight 2 Win debut in 2016, Lovato has beat Cyborg twice, Tanner Rice, Tim Spriggs, and most recently Josh Hinger. All while rapidly climbing the ranks in Bellator MMA. Lovato is continually forgings his legacy in two avenues of combat simultaneously

On the other side of the mat will be the current 99kg ADCC champion Yuri Simoes. Simoes is no stranger to the Fight 2 Win format either. He has had several notable victories at the event over the likes of Dean Lister, Tim Spriggs, and Travis Stevens.

Simoes has such a stifling game that forces opponents into a constant struggle of defending passes and suffering through pressure. Yuri has a fantastic takedown game as well. Although Lovato is no slouch in the wrestling department, it’s hard to imagine Yuri not being in the top position throughout this bout.
